IM Plus For Skype For Apple iPhone

Bringing a product or service to the market place first is usually the winner, but sometimes companies take a little while longer to come out with a much better product.  Case and point, the iPhone by Apple and now Shape Services is doing the same by releasing a still BETA Skype VoIP calling service.

Skype has yet to bring an iPhone compatible service so other companies such as Shape Services are filling the need.  The software is compatible with any J2ME device like the BlackBerry, Windows Mobile, Palm OS and Symbian.  Another company providing a similar service to Apple’s visual voice mail only for a regular phone line is from Parliant for a product called PhoneValet.

The software links the Skype user account to make voice calls using SkypeOut credits.  The application currently works on any network, according to Shape Services, which is interesting as it does not specifically need WiFi.  Via MyiTablet.
