Apple upgraded their AirPort Extreme with Gigabit ethernet ports at their recent Press Conference along with the new iMac 4th generation model. The 802.11n AirPort Extreme Base Station is still priced at $179.
The WiFi base station still includes the same slim design, security slot and USB port for remote printing capabilities. These new Gigabit ethernet ports puts the AirPort Extreme finally in competition with the Linksys 802.11n base station. Linksys introduced Gigabit ethernet ports before last December, so Apple is now up to speed. Via Engadget.
