Leopard Release Rumor to be October 26thIt’s not official by any means but word is coming down the data pipe these days that the release for Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard here in the US should be on October 26th.  It is further rumored that the time for release will be at 6:00 pm, which coincidentally is the same time that the iPhone was released.  The idea for this release time is from Piper Jaffray an Apple analyst.

The 26th of October happens to be a Friday which is great because it gives Apple the full weekend to get its sales figures.  An another analyst named Gene Munster says the 26th is a good date as it’s the end of the first month of a fiscal quarter, which Apple would like to show a boost in sales for.  The last Mac OS release happened the same way at the end of a fiscal quarter.
