Bose Frames Alto Best Buy
Bose Frames Alto from Best Buy

Bose’s first premium sunglasses with speakers are available now at Best Buy and each pair are $199.99. They come with built-in speakers, so turn up the volume to 11 on your personal style and immerse yourself in a listening experience unlike any other.

This revolutionary Bose audio gadget comes in two models, The Alto and Rondo. Premium accents like stainless steel hinges finished in gold adorn both Bose Frames, along with some UVA/UVB protection from the sun. They allow you to play music and take calls, all at the same time.

If I were to buy a pair of Bose Frames, I would get the Alto shades, which feature a classic angular shape, with big lenses, for a larger fit. Usually, tech gear comes in any color you want as long as it is black. Bose wants you to express yourself with their Blue Gradient or Polarized Mirrored Silver lenses for the Alto shades.

The Rondo sunnies have rounded lenses and are good for a smaller fit. If you want something a little more personalized; add the Blue Gradient or Polarized Mirrored Rose Gold lenses to them.

Some of the smaller audio gear out there uses a technology called bone induction, where the speaker sits on the jawbone to induce sound through a vibration system, that travels up to the ear. Instead, Bose steers audio into the ears with a series of patented acoustic chambers and ports from the temples of the glasses.

Bose always does a great job of making sound coming from their audio gear bigger than one could imagine it could. Their new glasses do more than play music or audio files. Their strategically placed microphone makes it easy to take and make calls, engage Siri, and the Google Assistant. Tap its single button to turn it on and off, accept and reject calls, and play and pause music.

My sunglasses can get beat up, so it is important that these can handle what life throws at them. The Bose Frames come with shatter and scratch-resistant lenses, metal hinges, and nylon rims that are also scratch-resistant.

The Bose Connect app for the iPhone and Android devices give you easy access to everything you need. The app offers Bose AR, and allows you to personalize everything with a few taps.

With Bose AR on, the audio augmented reality program makes amazing new audio experiences possible. The Alto and Rondo Bose Frames combine the power of wearable audio products, mobile devices, and integrated apps to augment your surroundings with content for your ears.

Apps like Naviguide and Walc, available for the iPhone, work with the Bose Frames AR system to get landmark-based navigation. Instead of the standard maps app telling you to turn right at .3 miles, the Walc app might say, turn right at the McDonald’s ahead.

Like with all Bose audio gear that I have owned, the audio clarity and spacious sound that comes from their speaker system seems nearly impossible given the Bose Frames size. The best part of how the Frames speaker system works is that you can have a rich and full audio experience, while a person standing next to you may only hear a peep.

What is very important with anything worn on the face is how they feel after a full day’s worth of use. They are relatively light, like most premium sunglasses.

They are rated to last for three and a half hours and take about two hours to charge. And what could be most important about the Bose Frames is that they will keep you socially available, unlike headphones which send a, “don’t bother me” vibe out there.

Best Buy has both Bose Frames available now. Customize your pair by opting for an alternate lens kit. Using these on public transit commutes and walking around in your favorite city are perfect use opportunities.
