Today, Apple released the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus, to its initial wave of countries. The USA is lucky enough to be in that list. People have been lining up at Apple Stores around the world, including Australia, for weeks.
I was lucky enough to go hands-on with both an iPhone 6 and an iPhone 6 Plus to check out their design, usability and iOS 8.

Blue Microphones have announced their second generation Mikey Portable Recorder for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Blue has previously wowed iPod and Mac fans with their previous releases of the Snowball, Snowflake, and Mikey original.
The second gen Mikey is still being considered for iPhone certification, although it looks like a powerful professional recording solution for iPhone users when it is supposed to arrive in the Spring. Mikey features two Blue mic capsules for pro-quality stereo recording, but now has slightly improved acoustic circuitry for better recordings such as concerts.

Users of the first iPhone and the 3G iPhone cell phone from Apple have been waiting for an A2DP (A2DP supports stereo and standard mono music headset audio profiles) Bluetooth stack release since day one. It appears that Apple is in no hurry to release such a Bluetooth stack into the iPhone version of Mac OS X. It’s puzzling why Apple would pull the Bluetooth stack from Mac OS X for the iPhone when it’s already included with the Mac OS X.

Apple iPhone 2G owners with more than 2 of the cell phones may have to wait to purchase additional handsets. AT&T wireless has confirmed along with Apple, that people looking to activate more than 2 cell phones will be out of luck, at least initally.
AT&T stores have received their Apple iPhone 3G’s for display purposes and will be activated on Thursday, July 10th. 3rd party applications from the App store on the display units would then have to be downloaded before official launch time which is at 8am on July 11th.

Apple’s iPhone 3G cell phone will finally be released on July 11th at 8 am. It will be sold at Apple retail stores and at AT&T stores. Quantities may initially be limited but should start to ramp up after the first week of sales. Reports are coming in from multiple iPhone sites that the purchase process this go around will not be as easy. Some are saying that purchasers will have to activate the 3G cell phone before leaving the store. Apple and AT&T want to avoid the immediate availability to the gray market of the newest iPhone cell phone by locking users into a 2 year agreement as AT&T did last time.
