Unix Based Darwin Foundation For Leopard Updated

Apple has released it’s underpinnings of Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard. Darwin, as it is called, is now at version 9, and it happens to be open-source! It is also the BSD/Unix foundation of Tiger.

A2DP Bluetooth Mac OS X Leopard SupportMac OS X 10.5 Leopard has now included the Bluetooth A2DP audio profile.  A2DP is the audio profile for stereo music on devices.  It specifically sends a stereo signal to Bluetooth headsets so that you can listen to music and other audio from a Bluetooth equipped Macintosh computer.

iTunes 7.5 and QuickTime 7.3 Updated

Apple today has released several key software updates for iTunes and QuickTime.  The new versions add new capabilities to the iPhone and iPod line while also fixing numerous bugs.  There have been a few security updates that have been addressed in both iTunes and QuickTime.

iMac Software Update 1.2 For Tiger and 1.3 For LeopardYesterday’s announcement of the MacBook Pro Software update 1.2, has been followed by the iMac 2.0, 2.4 and 2.8GHz 20-inch and 24-inch models receiving two different software updates depending on which Mac OS X version the user is running.  The iMac’s have had a few issues with freezing during use and so Apple is trying to polish out this bug for maximum uptime.
