Chris has been invited by Ford which are also sponsoring his travel and accommodations to compete in what they are calling the, “first-ever drivable game.” He has not been compensated for his social media coverage of the trip and all thoughts are his own. In addition, he will be touring parts of the City That Never Sleeps.
The Ford Motor Company is a top worldwide automaker and provider of mobility solutions. He is sworn to secrecy during the game to keep it fresh for new players. But, he will be showcasing aspects of the 2017 Ford Escape that helped him compete.
Social media posts for the trip and travels around New York City have begun today, June 22th from Las Vegas and will continue until his return on Sunday, June 26. He will be live posting on Eastern US local time, sometimes via a Verizon hotspot. Chris is both a VZWBuzz and Netgear Ambassador. They have provided him a hotspot to utilize while traveling. The automaker teamed with puzzle master Victor Blake to design the world’s first Escape the Room drive experience, integrating technology from the new SUV in a creative plot that will have players discovering a whole new side of New York State. Participants will use the technology and features of the 2017 Ford Escape to figure out clues and solve puzzles.
Selling out in less than 24 hours, the immersive group gaming experience has more than 1,000 players signed up to play June 23-26 at Moynihan Station in New York City. The 35,000-square-foot venue is more than half the size of a professional football field. The game was designed in collaboration with New York State’s “I Love New York” campaign. Players will attempt to escape multiple rooms.
