FourSquare Social Game Releases New Badges For Checking In

FourSquare, the social networking location based game has updated its service in Las Vegas, NV to include new checkin badges. Some of these badges are for the International Consumer Electronics Show here this week in Las Vegas, NV. One earns badges by using the service to check into venues they visit on a daily basis. Why is it exciting that FourSquare has done this? Well, up until now, the service has been limited to a certain amount of cities and badges to earn in these cities. With the advent of all of these newer badges to earn, the service might get another boost in two critical ways.

Blue Microphones Second Generation Mikey Announced With Free App

Blue Microphones have announced their second generation Mikey Portable Recorder for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Blue has previously wowed iPod and Mac fans with their previous releases of the Snowball, Snowflake, and Mikey original.

The second gen Mikey is still being considered for iPhone certification, although it looks like a powerful professional recording solution for iPhone users when it is supposed to arrive in the Spring. Mikey features two Blue mic capsules for pro-quality stereo recording, but now has slightly improved acoustic circuitry for better recordings such as concerts.

A2DP iPhone Cell Phone Bluetooth Accessory Now Available From Brando

Users of the first iPhone and the 3G iPhone cell phone from Apple have been waiting for an A2DP (A2DP supports stereo and standard mono music headset audio profiles) Bluetooth stack release since day one. It appears that Apple is in no hurry to release such a Bluetooth stack into the iPhone version of Mac OS X. It’s puzzling why Apple would pull the Bluetooth stack from Mac OS X for the iPhone when it’s already included with the Mac OS X.

iPhone and iPod Touch Firmware 2.0 Released By Apple With iTunes 7.7

iPhone 3G Apple Cell Phones Limited To 2 Per Person At Launch By AT&T

Apple iPhone 2G owners with more than 2 of the cell phones may have to wait to purchase additional handsets. AT&T wireless has confirmed along with Apple, that people looking to activate more than 2 cell phones will be out of luck, at least initally.

AT&T stores have received their Apple iPhone 3G’s for display purposes and will be activated on Thursday, July 10th. 3rd party applications from the App store on the display units would then have to be downloaded before official launch time which is at 8am on July 11th.

iPhone 3G Apple Cell Phone To Go On Sale at 8 am on July 11th

Apple’s iPhone 3G cell phone will finally be released on July 11th at 8 am. It will be sold at Apple retail stores and at AT&T stores. Quantities may initially be limited but should start to ramp up after the first week of sales. Reports are coming in from multiple iPhone sites that the purchase process this go around will not be as easy. Some are saying that purchasers will have to activate the 3G cell phone before leaving the store. Apple and AT&T want to avoid the immediate availability to the gray market of the newest iPhone cell phone by locking users into a 2 year agreement as AT&T did last time.

Apple iMac Personal Computer Turns 10 Years Young Today

It was not that long ago, 10 years, that I first started hearing and getting excited about the new iMac’s. I was told from an Apple rep that this new computer was going to completely change the way normal consumers purchased computers. Studies had shown that people were using more space than what could fit on a floppy so they got rid of it. The studies also showed that the USB version of the Iomega Zip Drive was beginning to dominate the portable storage market. To completely change the way people bought their computer made sense after hearing the whole story.

Apple Aluminum Keyboard Receives Firmware Update To Version 1.0
