VeryKool’s SPARK Android dual SIM unlocked smartphone reaches to max size of a phablet with a 5” screen and a curved metal bezel. Install two SIM cards and enjoy 4G LTE data from nearly any GSM provider. It comes unlocked at a super value of $170 available from Amazon. Easily switch between the two SIM cards via an Android app and avoid high roaming charges while traveling.

Brands that offer unlocked phones have not been known to include premium features and front facing cameras with large megapixels. VeryKool’s unlocked dual SIM smartphones are competitively priced on the market. Its form factor at only 7.5 mm is thin compared to other 5” smartphones that I have used. The SPARK feels and looks like a Samsung S6 and iPhone 6. It’s 2.5 dimension curved screen architecture is similar to smartphones that cost multiple times more.

VeryKool SL5011 Screen Resolution
Screen brightness and clarity on this mid-range smartphones is quite good in direct sunlight. I enjoyed streaming video podcasts and Vine videos throughout my review on its 4G LTE and WiFi connections.
Google’s Android Lollipop 5.1 OS is preinstalled and all features worked without lag due to its 1.0GHz MediaTek quad-core 64-bit processor and 1GB of RAM. An FM radio and a VeryKool Android firmware update apps were pre-installed to help notify users of when new software becomes available.

Testing its dual SIM card functionality was easy. Settings for each SIM are configured via an app pre-installed. There are screen icons showing connection and signal strength for each active SIM. It has access to several LTE bands including: 2, 4, 5, 7 and 17. I am curious as to why VeryKool decided not to include T-Mobile’s newest 4G LTE band 12. Magenta says that band 12 provides twice the coverage distance and it helps to penetrate walls in urban environments.

Calls did not drop in rural or city environments, however the cell site that your phone connects to and the carrier you use are important for call quality. Your experience with calls and data speeds will depend on the service available.

A maximum 4G LTE cellular connection speed of up to 150 Mbps, 294 pixels-per-inch 720 x 1280 resolution screen, 1 GB of RAM, 16 GB ROM, 2.4GHz and 5GHz WiFi shows where build materials and value were balanced for the SPARK. Making a smartphone with a 5” screen and a 8MP forward facing camera and flash at a price below $170 is excellent for this mid-range device.

At the price of $170 available on Amazon, the VeryKool SPARK SL5011 is a very good buy. Two SIM card slots, or one SIM card and a micro SD memory card, makes it versatile enough for use in the US and abroad. Or use this smartphone as a backup for traveling. Travel selfies with this phone will turn out great now that a forward facing flash has been added.
VeryKool SL5011 Screen Bezel Design
A good amount of accessories are included in the package. They include a case cover, earphones and a screen protector. That is another hallmark of VeryKool. The screen is bright, clear and the videos I watched became clearer when watching them over 5GHz WiFi. 4G LTE is nearly a worldwide standard and so this smartphone includes the capability to connect to multiple bands. If they keep up on firmware and Android updates, this smartphone will be nice to own for a while.
